Catching Up The 11 to 10

11 to 10 has been a terribly neglected blog for about 3 months now. After my huge lose in the Superbowl I gave up sports betting, for a couple of weeks anyway. During the NCAA Basketball tournament I had the urge to get it started again, but every time I looked at it, it reminded me of Black Sunday, when the Giants beat the Patriots. It’s not that I’m a Patriots fan. I’m learned a long time ago not to have favorite teams if your going to bet sports. It clouds your judgement.

I going to try running this blog again, along with my Horse Racing blog, Intothebit.com. This one is by far easier to write. Sports betting involves few statistics than Horse Racing, and you don’t generally have to pour over them five days a week. I’m reading a lot of stuff about affiliate marketing and such. I figure as long as this blog is sitting here, I should try some of these affiliate marketing theories on them and try to make some money. Hopefully enough to make up what I lost on the Pats.

So we’ll see what kind of changes monetizing this blog brings about. Hopefully I can make it interesting and profitable for the good of all mankind; and especially me.

Giants Shock Patriots in Superbowl

Sportsbooks Giving Away Free Money Today

It’s Super Sunday and there is something different about this year’s game. Normally I’m still combing over stats first thing in the morning the
day of the game. Usually I’ll change my mind 60 or 70 times before punching in my bets at VIP.com, but not today. There are literally hundreds
of prop bets to chose from today. From the coin toss to the final gun you can find action on anything related to today’s game. I’m usually still
deciding on these right up until game time, but not this year. This year, there’s a calm I haven’t felt on SuperBowl Sunday since the ‘85 Bears
destroyed the upstart Patriots. They won every quarter, they won the coin toss, they won nearly every proposition on the board, and I bet the
Bears on most of them.
It’s a rough time for many Americans with recession looming with just one more down quarter, the Sub-prime Mortgage mess, and plummeting home
values. The Fed has tried to stop the hemorrhaging by cutting the prime rate 1 1/4 points in the past few weeks, and our leaders want us to spend
$600 they are going to give us. The economic stimulus package couldn’t have come at a better time. Take your $600, and your kids $300, and bet
it on the Patriots today.
When I look back on this years Superbowl, I’m not going to be the guy who didn’t bet the undefeated team that scored nearly 40 points every game,
broke nearly every record in the book, and may be remembered as the greatest team of all time. Everyone is saying the Giants are the hottest team
in football coming into the game, but that’s not really true, is it? Someone had to win the NFC.I don’t think it matters who it was. They aren’t hotter
than 18-0.
The Patriots have looked vulnerable over the past six weeks, but they haven’t really been in danger of losing a game. The Giants have come on late
to be a decent team, and there in lies the difference. I’ve tried to beat New England all year, thinking the 14, 18, or 25 points are just too big of
spreads for NFL games. I didn’t fare well with that line of thinking, but I’ll get my money back today.
I’ll bet New England minus the 12 points. I’ll take the props and give up to 29 points getting New England at 8/1 odds.
Double digit favorites have not fared well in Superbowl history, and by my count have lost 3 of 4 games straight up. This year’s different. I’ll
make my bets with a confidence and a calm I haven’t had in the last 23 years of Superbowls.
The images I saw in a moment of clarity I experienced included Tom Brady with one finger pointed up, and Eli Manning with that “Aw Shucks” looks
we’ve come to know over the past few years. It’s really a great feeling to know what is going to happen, and be able to wager on it. I’m not stupid
enough to think I can’t be wrong, because I’ve proven that many times, but I just feel it today.
I will miss the rush you get from making your bets and watching with excitement as your team either wins or loses, but this is better. It’s free money.

Good Luck
